Honestly it looks pretty much like a book, even the cover feels pretty much like a book. Unless you have someone pick it up nobody will spend much time on it. I’d suggest a permanent location for it somewhere slightly cluttered.
Carrying it around will be noisy with anything inside it (metal interior) and makes it noticeable which is the exact opposite of the point of this product so **if you’re looking for a portable safe this isn’t a great choice.**
Pretty sturdy, although I am not taking a hammer to it to test.
The hinges do not squeak and opening and closing the safe is silent for discrete rummage of contents.

"I purchased this for my 5 year old son as a “secret hiding place” and he loves it. He’s able to turn the dials into place easily and it’s held up great to him opening and closing it all the time.
It’s also fairly convincing as a book. It fooled Grandma who saw it on his bookshelf with the other books and never thought twice about it. The sides also look like pages which is a nice touch.

How can u change the lock code?
- Inside the door, under the lock, there’s a latch with “a” on top and “b” on the bottom, Switch the latch to the “b” position, enter a number, then switch the latch back to the “a” position. Whatever number you entered will be the new combination..
Can this be used without locking it? I want fast access to the contents, without dialing a combination.
- Yes, it can be used without locked if it isn't carried around. In order to keep your cash or others, please lock the box and keep the password in mind. Hope it helpful.

- No, it does not lock until you turn the knob. You can leave the numbers in order and then just turn the knob to open.

I followed the directions to set the password and now I can’t get it unlocked. I’ve tried contacting them and it doesn’t work. Help?
- 1. Make sure you are moving the combination dials in the exact order you used when setting the combination ( i.e. if your first number was in the far left dial, make sure you move to the first number in your code in the dial to the far left; the middle number you are moving to the middle dial and if the last number was in the far right dial you are putting it in the far right dial;
2) make sure each number of your code is lined up completely in the center of each dial;
3) turn the small knob clockwise and while still holding onto the knob pull the top of the book safe up by the knob. This is how I open each of my Diversion Book Safes and it always opens the safe. When you are ready to close and lock the safe box reverse the steps and then move each of the three combination dials to "0" so that no one can see the combination to your safe. Try opening your box in the exact sequence of steps above and your box should open with no difficulty.

- This style combination lock book safe's airtight is general. So if you put things easily get wet, adding silica gel packs or desiccant would be better.
